Ruth Renze Barnhart, age 83, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away March 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She lived most of her life in the Oswego, NY, area until she decided she wanted to move to a warmer climate. She retired as the head bookkeeper at the P&C in Oswego and decided she wasn’t ready to retire quite yet. She went on to work in the banking industry until she finally retired. Ruth was the matriarch of our family and dearly cherished. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved telling anyone who would listen how proud she was of each of them. She was always willing to lend a listening ear and give advice if needed. Ruth lived her life to the fullest, always had a smile on her face, and was the ambassador wherever she lived. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Doris Renze, her sisters Fran, Dorie, and Joanie, and her husband, James Barnhart.

Ruth is survived by her children, Debbie (Barry) Trimble, Mike (Carla) Dombroski, Bob (Dali) Dombroski, and Mary (Mike) Dwyer, eleven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her loving sister Connie (John) Murphy, her first husband Tom Dombroski, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours and a small service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, 10am-12pm at Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Street, Mexico, NY . A Celebration of her Life will be at Driveway Inn, 4169 State Route 3, Fulton, NY immediately following the service.
