Ruth M. Bernacchi, 89, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2014. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 4:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL. A gathering will begin at 3:00 P.M.

Ruth was born in South Bend, Indiana and moved to Florida in 1992 from LaPorte, IN. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a member of the choir. Ruth was a retired homemaker, former hostess, and producer of WSBT-TV and WSBT Radio of "Timely Topics." She enjoyed playing the violin, golf and she was an excellent cook. Ruth loved to garden, walk, yoga, playing cards and board games with family and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her son, Tim Bernacchi; sister, Dorothy Ann Hall; brother, Richard Gewetzki. Those left to cherish Ruth's memory are her husband of 50 years, Robert J. Bernacchi; sons, John (Carol) Anderson, Bill Bernacchi, Bobby (Gail) Bernacchi; daughter, Rebecca Sipe; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Flowers are appreciated but donations may be made in Ruth's name to a charity of your choice.
