Obituary

A memorial service honoring the life of Dr. Russell Dale Mullins will be held Friday April 23 2004 10:00 o?clock in the morning at Tomoka Christian Church 1151 W. Granada Boulevard Ormond Beach.

A resident of Ormond Beach for 46 years Dr. Mullins died April 7. He was 79.

Born in Mercer Missouri a son of the late John Bert and Jewel Mullins Dr. Mullins graduated from Mercer High School in 1942. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1946 after serving three years as a Pharmacist Mate. In May 1952 Dr. Mullins graduated with honors from Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery. He was president of his graduating class. He moved to Ormond Beach in 1958 after beginning his career in Austell GA in 1954. He officially retired 4 years ago.

In addition to his practice in family medicine Dr. Mullins was the Chief of Staff 1973-1974 at Ormond Beach Osteopathic Hospital a former Sunday School Superintendent at First Baptist Church of Ormond Beach and the past president of Halifax Swim Association. Most recently he was a member of the Moose Lodge the Ormond Beach Senior Center and Tomoka Christian Church.

An avid golfer Dr. Mullins registered the first eagle at Tomoka Country Club among many other golfing accomplishments.

In addition to his wife Maria he is survived by his son David of Ormond Beach; two daughters Pamela Foster of Hudson FL and Melanie St.Raymond of Easton CT; two stepsons Louis and Frederick Bigliardi of Michigan; two stepdaughters Donna Dexter of Michigan and Christina Devine of Daytona Beach; a brother Doyle Mullins of MO; three sisters Gwen Goodin and Evelyn Holmes of MO and Mary Alice McLallen of TX. He leaves behind three grandchildren.
