Obituary

Russell L. Parks Jr. 79 of Ormond Beach passed away on Sunday April 15th 2012.

Funeral Services for Mr. Parks will be held at 11am on Thursday April 19th 2012 in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona with Chaplin Jimmy Smith officiating. The family will receive guests for a viewing one hour prior to the service. The burial will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery.

On August 9th 1932 Russell was born at the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach to the late Thelma Johnson and Russell L. Parks Sr. Russell started working at an early age after his father's untimely death when he was 12years old. He got a job as a paper boy and helped support his family with the money he made on his route. In 1950 Russell graduated from Mainland High School and then began his career in Electrical work. He worked on the launch towers and VAB Building @ Cape Canaveral and was a Master Electrician. Russell later founded Parks Electric Company in Ormond Beach and the family owned business is now his legacy.

When his children were young Russell was very active in their youth baseball leagues and school activities. He also enjoyed skating fishing golfing and boating. Russell was also a member of Army National Guard and First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach.

Russell is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Barbara Parks.

He is survived by his loving children Russell L. Parks III (Janet) Bob Parks (Kim) and Pam Parks grandchildren Angela Jessica Bobby Alex Brooke and Laura. He also leaves behind his brother Jim Parks and many extended family members and close friends.
