Rufus M. Webb of Daytona Beach passed in peace on September 28, 2016 after a 3 year struggle with cancer. He was 82.
He was born on October 20, 1933 to William and Elizabeth (Snow) Webb in Paris, Tennessee. He graduated from Union City High School in 1952. He began college at Memphis State University, before enlisting in the army. He finished his college career at Memphis State under the GI Bill with a B. S. degree in Business with a minor in education.
He met and married Dee Ann Krebs in 1960. They had 2 children, Elizabeth and Mark. He moved the family from Memphis and eventually moved to Atlanta Georgia. It was there he co-founded WSA Systems in 1976. He later expanded the business to Boca and Daytona Beach. He moved to Daytona Beach in 1986, where he met his present wife Amy.
He enjoyed sailing his boat "A Long Way" to the Bahamas and the Daytona Beach area. Other hobbies include skiing, flying his plane and traveling.
Rufus is survived by his loving wife Amy, His daughter Elizabeth (John) Eadie San Antonio, Texas, his son Mark ( Tina) Webb Daytona Beach, his Grandson Matt(Hollyann) Eadie Fort Worth, Texas and many family members and friends across the southern states, as well as his WSA family.
The service will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 3pm with visitation starting at 1 pm .
After the service please join family and friends for a cold beer at his favorite watering hole. The Ocean Deck, which we affectionately refer to as "The Webb Site"
