Rufus "Big R" Raines Sr. 64 of Daytona Beach Florida passed away Tuesday May 21 2013 at Halifax Health Hospice Port Orange. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 25th at 12:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends two hour prior to services.

"Big R" has been a resident of Volusia County since 1970 relocating from Danville Virginia; he was the owner/operator of "Big R" Tree Service for 32 years he enjoyed fishing and crabbing and was a Miami Dolphin Fan most of all Rufus loved spending time with his family.

Rufus is survived by his wife Dorothy Raines Daytona Beach son Tommy Raines Daytona Beach daughter Laura "Kimberly" Herron and her husband Jeffery Holly Hill step-sons Daniel Seymour Graceville FL Robert Evans Palm Coast FL brothers Ralph and Roger Raines both of Virginia five grandchildren Erica Katrina Britany Jacob & Taylor 4 step-grandchildren a great-granddaughter Ava and a step-great-grandchild sister-in-laws Joann Daugherty Holly Hill Cindy Raines and Doal Raines both of Virginia and his former wife Fay Beasley Holly Hill as well his as "Babies" his cats Sylvester Lucky and Nichole. Rufus was preceded in death by a son Wayne Raines as well as a brother Ronnie Raines.
