A Funeral Service for Rudolph G. Marshall 89 formerly of Palm Coast & Holly Hill FL who died Thursday January 26 2006 in Ft. Lauderdale FL will be held at 5:00pm Wednesday February 1 2006 in the Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home Ormond with Chaplain Bob Moorehead officiating. His family will receive friends from 4-5pm on Wednesday February 1 2006 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Mr. Marshall was born December 27 1917 in Ridgewood Park NJ. He lived the majority of his life in Baldwin NY before retiring to Palm Coast FL with his wife Jane in 1989. He was a member of the Palm Coast United Methodist Church. Rudolph Marshall was a private first class who served in the U.S. Army?s 292nd Engineers. He completed his bachelors degree at the University of Pennsylvania and Hofstra University and focused his career on engineering and lighting design at E.F. Hauserman Corporation combustion Engineering and Rohm and Haas Corporation. Recognized in New York City for his innovative and creative approaches to lighting in public spaces such as the Lincoln Center Mr. Marshall served as Chairman of the illuminating Engineering Society. He was also active in Toastmaster?s International. Mr. Marshall was a positive creative thinker and loved water boating and a good game of golf. He enjoyed finding new was to approach problems and tried to bring a positive spirit to all of life?s circumstances. He will be remembered for his joy in competition and debate. He was a great believer in the power of positive thinking and always shared his optimistic outlook. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 29 years Jane Marshall and his four children Claudia Shelton of West Hartford CT Randolph Marshall of Katonah NY Kathleen Marshall of Brooklyn Heights NY and Kim Waltman of North Granby CT as well as his 7 grandchildren Christopher Ryan Tim Patrick Amanda Katherine & Ella.
