Ruby Mae Dean of Ormond Beach passed away on July 2 ^nd at the age of 96.  A visitation will be held in her honor on July 6 ^th at Lohman's Funeral Home 733 W. Granada in Ormond Beach.

Ruby was born the oldest of 7 children in Cambridge City, Indiana and grew up in Richmond, Indiana. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1940.  Ruby worked as a waitress and also clerical secretary throughout the years.

She will be remembered for her glowing personality and sense of humor.  She loved singing, dancing and music and danced well into her late 80's.  Ruby enjoyed writing poems and even wrote a song.  For many years she wrote poems for the monthly newsletter at Prince of Peace Villas where she resided for 20 years.

Ruby will be sadly missed and was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Robert J. Dean.  She is survived by her daughters, Diana Smith of Palm Coast and Kathy Heverin of Ormond Beach, two grandchildren, Stacy Smith of Palm Coast and Christopher Wolfe and wife Cindy of Tampa, great grandsons, Caden Wolfe also of Tampa, Aidan Heverin of Daytona Beach, a brother Larry Eaton and wife Mary Ann of Port Orange and sister Shirley Carson of Richmond Indiana as well as many nephews and nieces.
