Obituary

Roy C. Copeland 43 of South Daytona went to be with the Lord on September 28 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 29 1965 in Washington PA. At the age of 13 he and his family moved to Port Orange. He attended Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona for three years and graduated from Spruce Creek High School. He was employed as a graphic designer and Vice President for Cats Magazine until 1996. He then worked for several years as a graphic designer for the International Speedway creative department and owner of RC Quality Painting. Some of his favorite past times were going to "The Shack" in Franklin NC with his dear friends and riding his BMW motorcycle through the Smokey Mountains. He also enjoyed boating computers woodworking watching the Pittsburgh Steelers re-runs of Hogan's Heroes and spending time with his family and friends. Roy suffered with cancer but this only furthered his resolve to live each day to the fullest. His wonderful sense of humor will remain within the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his parents Charles and Ruth Copeland of Ormond Beach his brother Ray and his wife Caprice of Ormond Beach his niece Amanda nephew Jesse and many close relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 3rd at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Daytona 118 N. Palmetto Avenue Daytona Beach where he was a member. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to www.cancer.org.
