Funeral services for Rosemary Spear Voges, of Ormond Beach, FL, who passed away at her home on September 26, 2016, will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, Sept. 30th, at St. James Episcopal Church, 44 S. Halifax Dr., Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 29th, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach. Rosemary was born on June 15, 1922, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Max and Helen (Boyer) Spear and was a 1940 graduate of Wiley High School. On August 15, 1945, she married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Voges, in New York City. Rosemary worked during WWII as a switchboard operator at Indiana Bell Telephone Company. She and Bob were avid supporters of his alma mater, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In 1961, Rosemary, Bob and their children relocated to Atlantic Beach, FL and, in 1966, called Ormond Beach home. Rosemary became a member of Grace Lutheran Church, was a PTA member for 30 years, a lifetime member of the YMCA, an active member of the Garden Club of Halifax Country, a member of Oceanside Country Club and a supporter of the Museum of Arts and Sciences.
Rosemary loved and supported her husband and loved to entertain. Among her favorite
activities were weekly Mahjong with her closest friends. Rosemary found great joy in being around young children. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, volunteered as the Ice Cream Lady at St. James Episcopal School, and loved to dress up as the Easter Bunny, Witch Hazel, and more. Rosemary enjoyed summertime in Sun Valley, Idaho, celebrating holidays, and, most of all, loved spending time with her family, telling stories and writing poems. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Voges, her daughter, Carol, her son-in-law, Steve, her sister, Sue, and her brother, Bob. She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Charles) Bacon of Martin, GA, and Dede (Doug) Hippler of Plant City; her sons, Bill (Susan) Voges and B Jay (Judi) Voges, both of Ormond Beach; her grandchildren, Robert (Kathy), Jenny (Mark), Josh (Dana), Sarah (Tom), Drew (Robin), Heather (Ryan), Hailey (Chris), Kimberlee, Jake, Travis, Will, Jessica, Jennifer, Stacey, and Robert; her great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Bryson, Christian, Ian, Evan, Nathan, JJ, Max, Ruby, Luella, Sadie Rose, Finlee, Blakely, Terrance, Violet Rosemary; and her great-great-grandchildren, Matthew, Micah, and Kiley.
