Obituary

Rose Genevieve Shaw, a cherished wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and inspiring great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of Bernard Shaw Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership.

Rose was the devoted mother of Karen (Shaw) Hill and her husband Darren Hill, Connie (Shaw) Shivers, and Susan Shaw. She was a guiding light and a source of unwavering strength to each of them.

Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren—Tiffany Rose (Darnell) Quinn, Timothy Joel "TJ" Darnell, Clayton Wayne Hill, Alicia Leanne (Hill) Lewis and her husband Demetrius Lewis, Tyler Joseph Mercer and Ricky Lee Dodd-Shaw — each of whom carry forward her values of resilience, determination, and love. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren: Paisley A. Roberts, Bennett T. Clark, Skylar Ann Renee Lewis, and Kassandra Rose Lewis, who will grow up hearing stories of her remarkable life.

A pioneer in every sense, Rose was a revered flight instructor and pilot, breaking barriers in aviation with passion and precision. Her fearless spirit extended beyond the skies—she was also a successful independent businesswoman, admired for her sharp mind, work ethic, and dedication.

But beyond her accomplishments, Rose was a mother first—offering her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditional love and a strong example of what it means to live with grace, grit, and purpose.

Her legacy is etched not only in the skies she soared, but in the hearts of those she lifted with her presence. She will be dearly missed, forever honored, and lovingly remembered.
