Rose Ann Norton, a resident of Bridgeview-OPIS Nursing Home, Ormond Beach, FL, passed away peacefully in the evening of January 25, 2016. Rose Ann was born in Newton, Massachusetts on July 1, 1926. She shared her childhood there with her brothers and sisters until the family moved on to Charlotte, Vermont. In May 1946 she married Charles A. Norton, Sr. who has preceded her in death, as well as a son, Edward J. Norton (Karen) of Port Orange, FL. Rose Ann moved her family to the Daytona Beach/Port Orange area in 1963 after the death of husband Charles. She met and brought Clifton G. Kimball as her second love to help raise her five sons. After the boys left the roost and when her Clifton died in February 1983, she worked for Treasure Island Resort in the reservation office. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Florida Health Care unit in Daytona Beach. She acquired over 7,000 volunteer hours while she was physically able to help out. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1590 Daytona Beach, where she served as treasure for 27 years. She also was a member of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary of the Greater Daytona Beach area. She loved to Knit and crotchet and managed her arts and crafts which she loved to do dearly. She has missed all her friends as she has outlived them all.
She is survived by her sons, Charles A. Norton, Jr. and his wife Amy of Macclenny, FL, James L. Norton and his wife Elly of Del City, Oklahoma, William H. Norton and his wife Susan, of Flagler Beach, FL, and David L. Norton and his wife Jessie of Tallahassee, FL; a brother Joseph Lane and his wife Shirley of South Burlington, Vermont, a sister, Frances Bruce of Seymour, Connecticut, a step-niece, Susan Amara and her husband Michael of Port Orange, FL and all her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren too numerous to mention. She loved them all.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, January 29th at 3:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona; 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach. The family will receive friends one hour prior to. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rose Ann's memory to the local Veterans organization of your choice.
