Ronald John Rose, 65, Daytona Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023 after a difficult battle with lung cancer.

Ron was born on December 22, 1957 to Raymond and Adele Rose in Providence Rhode Island. He began a military career in 1979 and went on to become a distinguished soldier of the US Army honored with numerous awards before retiring in 1998 at the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Ron married Camille (Buco) Rose in 1980. Although they divorced many years later, they had two daughters, Adrianna (Justin) Slavin and Marissa (Greg) Ruscoe.

Although he never completed a college degree, Ron had a thirst for knowledge and explored multiple fields of study, to include land development, dental, business management, pharmacy, veterinarian studies and computer programming, at various colleges, both during his military career and after.  He later held professions in food service delivery and airport security with TSA.

Ron enjoyed playing and watching golf, rooting for the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics, DIY projects, and working in the yard for countless hours.  He was overjoyed to have become a grandfather to three amazing grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan and Isabella.

Anyone who knew Ron knew him as self-motivated, loyal and professional.  He was a dedicated soldier, a loving father, a proud grandfather and a trusted friend.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and multiple siblings.

Funeral service to be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Lohman Funeral Home located at 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL beginning at 8:30am.  Interment at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery to follow.
