Ronald Gene "Ron" Register, 84, of Blairsville, GA, and previously of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on August 14, 2023.

He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Ron was born in Tampa, Florida on December 22, 1938.

He joined the United States Army in June 1961, in the 568th Engineering Company. He served for 4 years.

He graduated from the University of South Florida. He worked for the Florida Department of Transportation for 33 years, then retired in Blairsville, GA.

Ron loved his north Georgia mountain retreat which was close to lots of friends and family. He was a kind, thoughtful, and accepting "gentleman's gentleman".

Ron had a passion for golf. He would play a round often which would be followed by a cigar and a beer with friends. He also loved HO scale model trains and travelling.

Ron is survived by his wife Jean Register and her 2 children Jeanette and James, by his son Roy with second wife Ellie Register and daughter-in-law Stephanie, by his first wife Ute McClung and their son Dennis. He is also survived by 2 sisters Donna and Sheila, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many, many friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor "Ellie" Register, father Caulie Register and mother Lilla Register.
