A Memorial Service for Ronald G. Merkley "Ron" 72 of Port Orange and Asheville NC passed away on November 27 2007 will be held at 11 am Thursday December 6 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Ron was born to the late Donald and Robina Merkley in Ontario Canada and attended Raison University in Toronto. He moved to this area in 1963 and was a school photographer for B&B Studio. For 7 years Ron was Drum Major with Daytona Beach Pipes & Drums. He also loved camping and considered himself a "serious Christian". He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Sharron; sister Betty Gillard; aunt Freda Shields; cousin Joe Merkley; friends Larry and Diane Koeppel and many other dear friends. Memorial donations may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
