Ronald Lind, age 80, formerly of Stratford, CT. and resident of Port Orange, FL., beloved husband of Geraldine, passed away on Tuesday July 18th, 2017. Born in Boston, MA. On October 30th, 1936, Ronald was a resident of Stratford from his childhood until his retirement. He was the son of the late Axel and Julia Lind. He was a graduate from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Business Administration, he went on to own and operate Lind Construction, was a real estate investor, and finished his career working for the town of Stratford as a clerk of the works on school building projects. He served two terms as a councilman for the 7th district as well as volunteering his time on various boards within the town. He completed his military service in the Connecticut Army National guard as 1st Lieutenant receiving an honorable discharge. Throughout his life he was an avid sports fan, golfer, enjoyed boating, and classic cars. In addition to his wife Geraldine of 47 years, survivors include two loving children: son Jeffrey and daughter Jennifer and her husband Terence Brady, two grandchildren Philip and Sophia Brady, also survived by his loving brother George Lind and his wife Barbara and his sister Violet and her husband Paul Austin, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Lind. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 1st, 2017 at the Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford, CT... Burial will be immediately following the service at the Union Cemetery located behind the church.
