Obituary

Ronald Lynn Allen passed away at his home December 13, 2022. He is survived by his children, from eldest to youngest, Rodney (Theresa), Nicole, and Rion (Olivia); his sisters Carolyn and Cheryl; in addition to five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews. His grandchildren were excited to get to know him and loved receiving his well thought out birthday and Christmas cards. Ron joins his daughter Linzy and son Gerrod in the afterlife with love and warmth. His Mother Bertha and Father Fred welcome him into the afterlife just as they welcomed him into their lives as their first child. In life, Ron was an athlete competing in track at Eastern Michigan University and basketball in high school. He was active in local politics for which he was most proud of his time as Township Supervisor in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was a plumber and pipe fitter in Local 190 in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the remainder of his professional career completing many jobs, most notably the labs at the University of Michigan. After retiring, Ron was still active in the union, becoming union president. Ron had a deep understanding of political policy and emphatically shared his understanding with all. He was fond of watching movies with his family and enjoying the Florida weather on daily walks. Ron took pride in his home and vehicles and they shined in their appearance. Ron loved to smile and laugh with his family and friends. Even with acquaintances he would find a good joke to get a laugh. Ron was loved by his family and many friends. He will continue to live on through our stories and memories.

A family gathering will take place to celebrate the life of Ronald Allen where memories can be shared and our love can demonstrate our gratitude for having Ronald Allen in the lives he touched.
