Roma Hilton Lane (Anderson) was born and proudly raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. In adult life, she enjoyed a career in sales of high end cosmetics and traveling the continental U.S. instructing associates the art of makeup application and skin care during the 60's and 70's. "Car Phone" sales in the 80's during the cellular boom. Later, she operated a successful career in Real Estate, beginning as a sales associate, becoming a Broker and later Property Management. She enjoyed being challenged by and working with people, professionally and personally. She thrived and excelled in the professions that kept her engaged with the public.
In her personal life; Roma enjoyed drawing using both still life and pictures for her inspiration and she was quite talented. She also loved interior design, curating and creating a relaxed and comfortable environment for her friends and family. Additionally, Roma enjoyed traveling, golfing, cooking/ entertaining and reading but mostly she prioritized her time for her loved ones- always.
Roma never forgot nor abandoned the values and principals, integrity and religious beliefs instilled in her by her adoring parents, always keeping them as her guiding light. She instilled the same in her own children. Roma cherished her two girls and never failed to show her love and adoration. She is the model for "mothering" they both strive to emulate. They are so very blessed and proud she was their mother.
Roma is survived by two daughters, Romona Lea and David Dales (Ohio) and Romy Michelle and William Armour, Jr. (FL). Two sisters, Cathy Homer (SC) and Teresa Pyle (TN). Four Grandchildren, Nashua Johnson, Tara Dales, Dallas Dales (Ohio) and Lauren Williams (FL) and 8 great grandchildren (Ohio). She is preceded in death by her parents, Bordie and Sybil Lane (TN) and one sister, Meryl Hart (FL).
The family will hold a Celebration of Life open house for family and friends, date to be determined after the new year.
