Roland Justin Bishop's Obituary
Roland Justin Bishop, 93, of Daytona Beach, passed away on December 15, 2015 in Edgewater.
Born January 12, 1921 in New York City and married to Abbie Ruth Clingman, 92 on February 24, 1945 after serving 3+ years in the Coast Guard and Navy, leaves behind two sons, (Roland Jr. and Lawrence), five grandchildren and one great grandson. In his free time, he took evening walks holding hands with his wife and played with his children and grandchildren.
His hobbies included growing 100's of roses, training his German Shepherd dogs and doing plumbing and carpentry around the house. Taking evening classes at college helped him rise from the position of porter to Building Superintendent and Manager of the Daily News over a 40+ year career. In retirement he began writing and published two novels (Operation Arabian Knights and Code Name Fire Ant). The world was a better place while he was here.
