Roland Joseph Baril 89 of Port Orange passed away August 8th 2010. A funeral service in his honor will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. Saturday August 11th 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 600 S. Nova Road Ormond Beach. Roland was born in Dracut Massachusetts to Gedeon and Rose Baril. He met and married Jeannette M. Gaudet on March 6th 1943 in Lowell MA. Roland was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army Air Force in 1945 where he served as an Aircraft Engineer in the Flying Training Command in the 2500th Army Air Force Base Unit where he received an honorable discharge. Roland was employed as an Aircraft & Engine Mechanic at United Technologies for 30 years where he retired in 1983. Being a man that lived his life serving others will be a life long legacy that will endure forever. Roland was a wonderful husband an outstanding father grand-father and an overall extraordinary person. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 67 years Jeannette Baril sons: Gerald Baril (Betty) and Robert Baril (Kathy) daughter: Carolyn Rather (Phil) grandson: Jesse Rather.
