Obituary

Roger Paul Rodgers, Sr. 80 of Port Orange, Florida previously of O'Fallon, Missouri, entered his heavenly home on April 25, 2024.  Roger was born in Smithers, west Virginia.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Quinton Rodgers, his parents Boyd and Mary Rodgers, brothers Leon and Robert, and sisters Rose and Doris Rodgers.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years Janet Rodgers of Port Orange, Florida, son Roger Rodgers, Jr. (Christie), daughter Laura Green (Jim), grandchildren Hailey Rodgers, Trey Green and Ashlyn Green, and brother Charles and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was a proud Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the Engineer Corp and in Aviation as a Helicopter Pilot flying the Huey and Chinook with 12.5 years of military service attaining the rank of Major.  He was awarded the Bronze Star w/Valor Air Medals w/Valor for his service in Vietnam and several other medals.  Post military he worked in Sales and Service with Mechanical Contractor Companies in St. Louis.

Roger will be buried with full Military Honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, Florida 32754 on June 14 2024 at 9:00 a.m..
