Roby Randal "Randy"  Epling

March 12, 1948 - October 14, 2020

Randy's life journey began on March 12th, 1948 in Miami, Florida. Born to, and survived by, Roby Roosevelt Epling and Elizabeth Bachman Epling. Randy was called home on October 14th 2020, due to ALS complications.

Randy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Maria Larceri Epling, five remarkable children and their spouses, Theresa Lynn Epling, (Christobal), Rodriquez, Robyn Renee Disbro, Randal Mark Epling, Ashley Marie, (Eric), Roberts, and Danielle Alyse Epling. Randy was so incredibly proud of them, their love of God and country, love for each other and their perseverance in the face of diversity.

Grandfather of four beauties, Nicole Elizabeth Disbro, Gianna Gabriella Rodriquez, Rylee Alexa Clark and Eva Jayne Clark.

Randy is survived by his siblings and their spouses. Dawn, (Robert), Peterson, Gary,(Sandra Beaver), Epling, Gail, (Johnny), Kasianowicz and Gina, (Armand), Grossman, all for whom he held in the highest respect.

A true lover of adventure Randy enrolled at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to pursue  a career in aviation. Interrupted by war in 1969 Randy enlisted in the United States Air Force. A fondness for aviation chartered a path that included type ratings in 14 different aircraft, helicopter, glider, and parachuting. Owner and operator of Corporate Jet International, a Learjet charter company, Randy continued to grow and the charter company evolved into an aircraft sales and management company, Aerojet Management, Corp. based at Daytona International Airport.  Through Aerojet Randy was honored to fly the President of the Dominican Republic, heads of the Catholic Church, dignitaries and other high ranking government officials world-wide in a GV.  Earlier in Randy's career he helped locate a downed aircraft and radioed in the coordinates for rescue crews. 2015 Randy found great delight as a Citation X Instructor and Center Examiner at Flight Safety International. His professionalism was outstanding, earning him the "Best of the Best" award from Flight Safety Int'l, Orlando, 2019.

Frequent GV client trips to the Dominican Republic resulted in a mining project to excavate a sky blue gemstone - Larimar.  Larimar's pit mining technique created challenges for the locals so Randy, together with a team, provided health care, food, hand mining tools, and rain water drainage. No damage to the environment, no strip mining. With the blessing from the DR Government, Catholic Church, and Miners Association a safer excavation plan was implemented and first right of refusal of the gemstone was granted. Larimar jewelry was then crafted on site near the mine and this led to yet another adventure for retail sales, Highlander Outpost and Goods.

1998 Highlander Outpost and Goods, S. Daytona, Fl. was established. Randy's vision was put to paper and a 2.5 acre former lumber yard and 1930's home was reinvented into an event complex with a Restaurant, Gift & Jewelry Shop, Ice Cream Parlor and event area.  Car shows, bike events, live radio broadcasts, celebrity guests and best of all family, new and old friends would gather for laughs, great food and award winning clam chowder.

Two wheels are good for the soul and Randy's soul sought out the open road. The trips and family vacations to the mountains often included the motorcycle or dirt bikes. The friends both new and old that rode are like no other and are still treasured. He earned his patch, 1,000 miles in 24 hours, with a terrific group from Space Coast Harley. Randy introduced Highlander Boss Hoss Daytona motorcycle dealership to the area and later Cycle World of Daytona.  Cycle World of Daytona was created from the Klassix Auto Museum and featured new and pre-owned   Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Boss Hoss and Ridley motorcycles and powersports . 2007 YAMAHA awarded the dealership a Top 10 Dealership Award with a trip to Japan. 2008 Dealernews named CycleWorld with a nationwide Top 100 Excellence in Powersports Retailing award.

One extraordinary man that lived and shared an extraordinary life. It's hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. As long as we live you will be loved.
