Roberta "Betty" (Sinclair) Draher, lifelong resident of North Miami, died February 9 at her home in Ormond Beach after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Miami in 1931, Betty spent many years working at Arnold Palmer Dry Cleaners in North Miami. In 1986 she went to work for Metro-Dade County as a supervisor for school crossing guards. She worked with the county for 10 years until her retirement in 1996. After retiring from the county she worked with the city of North Miami as a crossing guard supervisor for another two years.

Betty was born on July 31, 1931, the daughter of Robert and Mildred Sinclair. Her father was born in Scotland and Betty was always very proud of her Scottish heritage. She loved her North Miami neighbors and neighborhood where she lived for over 50 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening and police functions. Betty was a supporter and founding member of the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington D.C. and has been an honorary Silver Member of the Florida Sheriff's Association for 20 years. She also served as "den mother" to the Kustoms Car Club in Opa Locka in the 1960's.

Preceding Betty in death were her parents, brothers Frederick Sinclair, Milbury "Junior" Sinclair, Harold Sinclair, William Goold, sister Louise Franke and daughter Helen Garretson.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Guilday of Methuen, MA; son, Robert "Bob" Sinclair of Ormond Beach; grandsons Lance Sinclair of Delray Beach and Daniel Sinclair of Sanford; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Lohman Funeral Home in Ormond Beach has been entrusted with arrangements. Services will be held Saturday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lohman chapel at 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
