Mr. Robert Marshall Wedge, age 88, of Port Orange, FL passed away after a brief illness at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, VA on Sunday, November 1, 2020.

Mr. Wedge is a 1951 graduate of Mynderse High Academy (Seneca Falls, NY). He served the United States in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1956. He worked as a draftsman for the Seneca Falls Machine Company, General Electric in Syracuse, New York and Daytona Beach, FL and Xerox Corporation in Henrietta and Webster, NY. He retired from Xerox in 1987 and has happily lived in Florida since while spending summers in Midlothian, VA with his son, Robert, daughter-in-law, Barbara, and granddaughter, Destiny. Like many retired Upstate New Yorkers, he hated the cold.

Mr. Wedge was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, great uncle, grandfather, mentor, and friend to all he encountered. He greeted everyone he met and knew with a big smile on his face and warmth in his heart. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a lover of Westerns, and a determined finisher of word search puzzles in his later years. He served as a member of the Planning Board in Macedon, NY in the 1980s and believed civic responsibility was fundamental.

Mr. Wedge was predeceased by his loving wife, Jane, in 2013, his mother, Virginia in 1970, his stepmother, Arlene, in 1984, and his father, Marshall, in 1988. In addition to his son, daughter in law and granddaughter listed above, Mr. Wedge is survived by his two sisters, Debra (Robert) Pietrocarlo of Seneca Falls, NY and Cynthia (Clifford) Kunes of Stanley, NY. He is also survived by his daughter, Linda (Steven) Thibodeaux of Carencro, LA and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who loved him dearly and whom he loved in return. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Worthdays, a nonprofit organization in Richmond, VA whose mission is to ensure that those impacted by the foster care system know they are important, worthy, and celebrated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and in an abundance of caution, a private graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 13 at Daytona Memorial Park at 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
