Robert Charles Weber passed away peacefully on Sunday morning May 10, 2015 at the age of 95.

Robert, known to his many friends as "Bob" was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Clara and John G Weber. Robert was the youngest of three boys, brothers John E Weber and Henry P Weber both preceded him in death.

After three years of College, Bob realized his talents were in sales so he left to begin a very successful life in the business world. In 1942, while working in Buffalo New York, he met a pretty girl by the name of Ann Louise Elliott. They married in August of 1943.

Bob and the family moved to Daytona Beach in 1951, feeling that the Daytona Beach area would be a great place to raise a family. And it was!

Bob built several successful businesses before founding Melweb Signs Inc in 1959, which he eventually expanded to include branches throughout Florida. His business range grew to encompass national as well as international contracts. Bob served as the president of the company until his retirement in 1986. Bob was very active in the Outdoor Advertising Industry which included being a Lobbyist in Washington DC; member, Director, and past President of the National Sign Association; World Sign Association Past National Director and past Divisional Chairman; and Roadside Businessmen's Association Director. Also he was both past president and director of the Florida Electric Sign Association and the Florida Outdoor Advertising Association.

Bob felt it was very important to contribute to your community, becoming very active civically throughout his business career. Local civic activities included: being past Rotary Director, Past Chapter Chairman of the Red Cross, Director of the Volusia County Ad Tax, Past Director of the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce, Past Director of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce, and past Director and President of Oceanside Country Club, Community Promotions, and the YMCA.

Bob retired in 1986 and, when he wasn't traveling with Ann to some out of the way place, he was playing golf and cards with his friends. In 2013 he was "Proclaimed an Honorary Member of The Rotary Club of Daytona Beach".

Bob had said many times that "he never met a stranger". He worked hard and played hard and was loved by all for his generosity and integrity, his sense of humor and zest for life.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ann and is survived by his son, Jeffery (Patricia) Weber; daughter Sharon (John) Smith; daughter Linda (Chester) Brummett, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3PM Sunday, May 24, at St James Episcopal Church, 38 South Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach.
