Robert J. ?Bob? Snowden 68 of Ormond Beach Florida passed away on Friday August 18 2006 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 25 2006 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Bob was born on February 7 1938 to Honorine and Robert Henry Snowden in Hollywood FL. He lettered in all four sports and was the quarterback for the South Broward High School Bulldogs. He was the president of his senior class. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1961 and has always been a die-hard Gator Fan. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam as the commanding officer of Lima Company 3rd Battalion 5th Marines. With the help of his Master Gunnery Sergeant Wally Lockes he set up a reunion of Viet Nam vets who served with Lima Company. That group now numbers 60 and meets somewhere in the United States every year. He moved to Ormond Beach from Camp LeJune in 1973. He was a property appraiser with Preston & Associates. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Nancy daughter and son in law Kim and Rob Finzel of Ponce Inlet son John and daughter in law Sam and son Bo and daughter in law Lisa and 5 grandchildren Zachary Sydney Mason Cole and Jackson all of Ormond Beach and his sister and brother in law Nancy Carolyn and Gerald King of Bainbridge GA .
