Robert Grove Safford, 78,  of Deltona, Florida passed away on December 11, 2021. He was born on June 19, 1943 in Newport News, Virginia. His parents were Theodore R Safford and Mabel Ann Safford(Harrell). He was predeceased by his wife Jackie Safford. He is survived by his daughter Leslie Safford of Woodbridge, Virginia, his brother James Safford(Kathy) of Okahumpka, Florida, his sister Carol Schmelz(John) of Citra, Florida, his nephews James R Safford and Nathan Schmelz, and his nieces Kristine Lewis(Bill), Laura Safford, and Lauren Schmelz. He was a graduate of Prince George High School in Prince George, Virginia. He also graduated from Vo-Tech and pursued drafting and engineering. His career was with Mossberg Gun Company. Of his many accomplishments a milestone was the designing of 2 patents. Some of his main interests and hobbies were guns, hunting, cars, and auto racing. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
