Chief Robert H. Palmer passed away peacefully Saturday February 4th 2012 at Halifax Hospital with his three girls Marie Lynn and Patti by his side. A Funeral service for Police Chief Palmer will be held Wednesday February 8 2012 at 2:00pm at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home 736 So. Beach St. Daytona Beach FL with Law Enforcement Ceremony to follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Chief Palmer was 84 years old and had a full wonderful life with a 26 year police career and his contracting business of many years. Robert retired as Chief from the DBPD in 1976. Unit 100 (the original) is 10-7! He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Marie; daughters Lynn and Patti; and seven grand and seven great-grandchildren. He was the picture of ""a policeman's policeman"" and a great friend husband father and mentor to many. He will be missed by his family but he is probably already in the thick of it ""straightening"" things out upstairs. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Baggett and Summers Funeral Home.
