In Loving Memory of Robert D. Mathis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert D. Mathis—beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend—who departed this life on April 10, 2025.

Robert began his professional journey with honor and distinction, serving in the United States Air Force and embodying the true spirit of patriotism. Following his military service, he dedicated over 30 years to the field of emergency medicine in the greater Daytona Beach area. His tireless devotion to saving lives and offering compassionate care left an enduring mark on the community he so faithfully served.

Robert is survived by his loving brother, Rick Mathis, his children: sons Eric, Vance, and Robby; daughters Teresa and Rebeca. He was a proud grandfather to Zenei, Lance, Aria, Lucas, and Makai—each of whom brought him boundless joy and pride.

The world feels profoundly changed in his absence. His wisdom, humor, and kind spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Robert was deeply loved, and his memory will forever be held close in the hearts of his family and friends.

Rest peacefully, dear Pop. Your legacy of love, service, and compassion lives on in all of us.

"The world is still a weird place, despite my efforts to make clear and perfect sense of it."  -   Hunter S. Thompson
