Robert E Ludlow Sr, age 76 of Ormond Beach Fl passed away on Saturday, December 10th at Halifax Hospital with his wife Janet by his side. Born and raised in Dundalk, Md. Bob married his high school sweetheart in 1959 and proudly served his country as a radar specialist aboard the USS O'Hare from 1960 to 1962. Bob had a lifelong passion for sports which lead him to coach kids for over 60 years. His goal was always to mentor young men in the community to become gentlemen of character and worthy competitors not only in sports but most importantly in life. Bob touched many families through coaching and built lasting friendships with his players, their families, his fellow coaches.
Bob and Janet moved to Ormond Beach Fl in 2001 to begin retirement where they became avid golfers and again established many lasting and enduring friendships over the years. In true fighter fashion Bob began the battle of his life in 2015 when he was diagnosed with Mesothelioma and continued to fight with grace until his journey ended on Saturday.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet, son, Bob and daughter- in- law Mindy, daughter Bonnie Thomas and fianc Kip Causey. Four grandchildren, Barbara Thomas, Rachel Thomas, Casey Ludlow and Jake Ludlow. His brother Ed Ludlow and sister in law Joyce. Along with many other family members and friends.
