Obituary

Robert Lindmar, age 87, of South Daytona passed away on Sunday April 6, 2014.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 P.M., on Friday April 11, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The family will receive guests for a viewing one hour prior to the service, the burial will immediately Daytona Memorial Park.

Robert was born on September 21, 1926 in Avenel, New Jersey. He served proudly in the United States Navy enlisting in 1942. He served in the South Pacific on the USS Vesuvius, an ammunition ship.

Robert loved baseball and it was his passion. He was signed to a provisional contract by a Cleveland Indian Scout. He played one season in Scranton, PA minor League, and played semi-pro baseball.

Robert enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports especially baseball. Local teams he supported were the Rays, South Daytona Sting, Rays, and Father Lopez Baseball.

He retired as a sales representative for an oil company.

Survivors include; grandson, Norman Yelverton; granddaughter, Cindy Yelverton; great grandchildren, Shane and Sierra Yelverton; and son in law Kemper Hill.

He also leaves behind nephews, Glenn Slater, Richard Slater, Charles M. Lindmar, Jonathan C. Lindmar; great nephews Dylan, Bralon Lindmar; many extended family members, and close friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Delaney and Charles Lindmar; wife, Jeanne Lindmar; and daughter Sherry Hill.
