Obituary

Robert D. Jacobs 80 of Palm Coast, Florida died Thursday, July 31, 2025 in Palm Coast.  He was born in Louisville, Kentucky January 1, 1945, to Emma Lee (Phillips) Fugate and John Paul Jacobs.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Joe (Hasty) Jacobs; two daughters, Christina (Ronald) Salerno and Cynthia (Andrew) DeSio; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Mikayla) and Micaela Salerno; four sisters, Gladys Lewis, Carol Richards, Linda Hamilton, and Pam Spayd. He is also survived by four nieces, six nephews, numerous great and grand nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins, relatives, and friends.  His sister, Helen Lincoln preceded him in death.

Mr. Jacobs retired as a sales representative for Combine International and previously had been employed in retail management with the F. W. Woolworth and it's subsidiaries for 38 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved to travel, and loved the land.  He fulfilled his life dream by going on two African Hunting Safaris.  His new retirement hobby was attending car shows with his 1923 Ford T-bucket. In 2021, he and Mary Joe relocated to Palm Coast, Florida to enjoy the rest of their lives with sun, not snow.

He was a member of Tomoka United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach, Florida.  At his request, he will be cremated and interred at the Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Services have been entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast.
