Robert Vernon Hurst 82 of New Smyrna Beach passed away February 25 2009. For the past 10 years he worked as a sales associate at Wal-Mart in both Port Orange and New Smyrna. In addition he was a former beach toll worker in New Smyrna. A memorial service will be held at a later date. "Vernon" was born in Ocoee Florida and was a World War II Veteran. His family will remember him most as being a wonderful husband father and friend. He had two dogs Max and Oreo who he adored tremendously. Vernon leaves behind his wife of 30 years Pat (who also works at Wal-Mart); daughters Cheryl (Glen) Melvin of Longwood FL Karen (Randy) Enslin of Lake City FL; stepdaughter Angela (Don) Lilly of Port Orange FL; son Beau Misner of Lake City FL; stepson Andy (Tammy) Powell of Wadesboro North Carolina and his grand children who he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his son Robert "Corky" Hurst.
