April 17, 1931- January 2, 2016
Robert L. Hufstedler, Sr., 84, went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 2, 2016, following a brief illness. He is known as a devoted husband, loving grandfather, loyal American and helpful neighbor. Robert served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves as a military policeman and later as a state trooper in Kentucky and Florida.
He and his wife, Phyllis Roberts Hufstedler, lived in Volusia County since the mid 1980s. He enjoyed boating and fishing, working in the yard and helping his neighbors and friends.
He is predeceased by his son, Robert L. Hufstedler, Jr., his parents and siblings. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his grandson, Garrett Hufstedler, and his daughter-in-law, Sondra Guffey Hufstedler.
A memorial service will be at Lohman Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Friday, January 15. In lieu of flowers, please consider Southern Guide Dogs Paws for Patriots Program.
