Robert D. Harris 78 of Ormond Beach passed away on October 3 2010. Burial will be Wednesday October 6 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery.
Robert was born to the late Daniel and Ila Lee Harris on December 23 1931 in Daytona Beach FL. He honorably served 30 years with the US Marine Corps as an Aviation Crash Fireman and retired as a Gunnery Sgt. He served in the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. After his retirement from Marine Corps he was a school bus driver for the Yuma Union High School in Arizona.
He is survived by his son Edward Harris of Phoenix AZ his daughter Roberta Harris of Jacksonville FL one brother Thomas Harris and wife Ruth of Sanford FL one sister Virgle McCain and husband Harding "Mac" of Ormond Beach FL and special nephews Roy Gailey and Larry Werner.
He is preceded in death by a brother Lee Roy Harris sisters Stella Crawford Leona Gibson and his special aunt Alphia Doherty.
