Robert Hannahs age 88 passed away June 5th at the Hospice Care Center Port Orange FL. Mr. Hannahs was born on March 10 1916 in Kenosha Wisconsin. He attended Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha WI University of Wisconsin Madison and Layton School of Art in Milwaukee. He served as a Boy Scout leader for 35 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver for dedicated service to scouting.
He served in the US Navy aboard a submarine in the Pacific during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the New Smyrna Conservation Hunt Club and a strong supporter of the Humane Society. He was past exalted ruler of the Elks Club of Kenosha WI 1956-1957 and a member of the Loyal Order of Dedicated Grouse Hunters. He retired from American Brass Co. moving to Green Valley AZ then relocated to Ormond Beach in 1980. He was a member of the Unitarian Universal Church while in Kenosha. Bob was an avid gunsmith and was well known for his custom built muzzle loaders. He enjoyed hunting fishing and traveling particularly cruises. He loved his ?Wednesday Club? at Billy?s Tap Room and enjoyed his Old Overholt Old Fashions. For 50 years Bob enjoyed his annual hunting trip with his dogs to Clam Lake WI where he had a primitive log cabin on the Chippewa River.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Faith who was a dear friend of his second and loving wife Eve who survives him. He is also survived by his sister Edna Seaman and husband Harold. He was the loving father to his son R. Stephen Hannahs and wife Carla of Newport Beach CA; his daughter Nancy of Prescott AZ; Eve?s two daughters Judy Seps and husband Don; and Lauren Riel; his 5 grandchildren David and Lisa Rivera Kathren Howlett and Eve?s grandsons Christopher Monberg and Laurence Monberg III who preceded him in death; his seven great grandchildren; his dogs Katy and Poppy and his cats Simba and Charlie. His good friends Bob and Gail Burch of Ormond Beach FL and Pat and Steve Woods of Hix Landing WI.
Family and friends are invited to Bob?s farewell dinner at Billy?s Tap Room beginning at 6:00pm on Monday June 7th.
