Robert John
Dytkowski
January 23, 1939 – April 4, 2025
Robert J. Dytkowski, Sr., who died on April 4, 2025, was the son of Stanley and Rose (Zaccati) Dytkowski. He was born on Monday, January 23, 1939, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. His beloved wife Dorothy (Zawisa) of 56 years passed away in 2017, following a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his brother Paul, who lives in Amherst, New York, as well as his two children, Robert J. Dytkowski, II, who lives in Port Orange, Florida and Tricia Dytkowski Usab, who lives in Liberty Lake, Washington. He was the proud grandfather of 5 granddaughters, three from his son, and two from his daughter.
He worked as an information technology specialist in the health care industry in Buffalo, New York at both Deaconess Hospital and at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Then he worked as an information technology specialist at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida for 20 years, followed by employment with Cedars Medical Center and the State of Florida Department of Health in Miami Beach, Florida. He retired from the Department of Health in 2004.
He was very involved with the Ormond Beach Jaycees and the State of Florida Jaycees. He received the honorary title of JCI Senator #18263, and was active in the Florida JCI Senate, eventually becoming the 9th President of that organization. Additionally, he was fortunate to travel both during his years of service in the Navy and after. In 2017, he attended a World JCI Congress in Amsterdam, Holland, and at the same time he traveled to Warsaw Poland to visit a relative and Our Lady of Czestochowa. As a young adult, he traveled all through Europe and attended the 1958 Worlds Fair in Brussels, Belgium.
He was a very active member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange, Florida as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Audio-Visual Team. He was an Honorary Life Member of Council 8086 and Assembly 2794. As well as a State Chairman for the State Knights of Columbus Council.
A viewing will be held at Lohman's Funeral Home from 4 pm to 7 pm, on April 24, 2025, which is located at 1201 Dunlawton Avenue in Port Orange, Florida. A mass will be held the following day at 8:30 am, on April 25, 2025, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church located at 4675 Clyde Morris Boulevard in Port Orange, Florida, with a committal service immediately following at the Daytona Memorial Park located at 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida. All those who knew Robert (Bob) are welcome to attend these events to say goodbye and celebrate his life.
