A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Robert S. Davies (Bob) 86 of Daytona Beach who died on August 14 2007 will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday August 21 2007 at the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes 1201 Dunlawton Avenue with Chaplain Mark Spivey officiating. Bob was born on June 30 1921 to the late John and Dora Davies in Wheeling West Virginia. He honorably served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Bob moved to Daytona Beach in 1980 after retiring as Purchasing Manager for Durion Company in Dayton OH. Upon settling here Bob worked part time for 23 years at H & R Block as a tax preparer. Mr. Davies was a member of Pelican Bay where he enjoyed many years of golf and tennis. He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons Robert E. of Daytona Beach and Brad of Centerville OH; two sisters Jane Meintel of Leesburg VA and Esther Tyler of Yellow Springs OH; four grandchildren two great grandchildren and many nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Lois J. Davies in October 1999.
