Robert P. Crocetta Sr. age 84 of Palm Coast; born & raised in Gloversville NY and a graduate of Manlius Military Academy and a veteran of the US Army 88th Division in WWII died Saturday at his home.
Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast on Friday December 15 2006 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday December 14 2006 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m.
Interment will take place in Memory's Garden of Colonie NY
He founded Chippers Men & Boys retail store in Gloversville NY; was former CEO of Steefel's Mens & Boys store in Albany NY; owner of Governor's Motor Inn in Guilderland NY; former President of Crocetta Brothers Co. Inc of Albany NY and original owner & operator of Colonie Cider Mill in Colonie NY.
A very civic minded man he was instrumental in saving the Saratoga Battlefield in NY. As a resident in Florida for the last 19 years he worked diligently for "8 is Enough". Robert was one of the founders of the City of Palm Coast & volunteered his time to help ensure its' success. He was an Interim Council member for the city of Palm Coast and served on several city groups. Robert was the first recipient of the Palm Coast "Person of the Year" Award. He was also previously the Governor of the Mayflower Society of Upstate New York and Past President of S.A.R. in New York & Florida.
Survivors include his wife Kathleen; two sons Patrick Crocella of Tampa FL and Robert P. Crocetta Jr. of Palm Coast FL; two daughters Karen Crocetta and Barbara Crocetta of Palm Coast; 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
