Robert Earl Cornwell, 72, of Ormond Beach unexpectedly passed away July 4, 2014. A Visitation in his honor will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 5-7pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 1pm at First United Methodist Church Ormond Beach. Interment will follow at Volusia Memorial Park.

Bob was born in Toluca, NC to Robert Alton and Earlene Hoover Cornwell. He graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BA. He met and married the love of his life, Dorothy. They started their family with their son Robert Anderson Cornwell. Bob worked for Sears for 40 years in sales management, contract sales, and as a national sales manager. Sears relocated the family from South Carolina to Florida in 1978.

Bob was very physically fit and a workout addict. When he retired, he worked part-time at the YMCA for 10 years. He loved biking, swimming, running, and tennis. Bob was a member of 3 men's groups with the Methodist church. He was a member of the Halifax Hospital Associate Board. His true passion in life was his wife of 49 years, Dorothy, and his children and grandchildren.

Bob's memory will be cherished by his wife Dorothy, son Robert Anderson Cornwell (Krista), grandchildren: Brittany Cornwell, Ashley Cornwell, Robert Landon Cornwell, Aleah Kirby and Kenley Kirby, siblings: Gail Johnson, Joan Johnson, and Rick Cornwell (Rhonda), by many dear nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his sister Rhonda Wright. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Crohn's Foundation.
