Obituary

Funeral service for Robert W. (Bob) Cornforth 80 Pelican Bay in Daytona Beach will be held on Friday August 29 2008 at 11 a.m. in Port Orange Presbyterian Church 4662 Clyde Morris Blvd. officiated by Pastor Calvin Gittner. Bob's family will receive friends today (Thursday August 28) from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. Masonic service will be at 6 p.m. Born in Pittsburgh Pa. he moved to this area after retiring as a sales manager from the Minnotte Corporation in 1992. Bob earned his B.A. degree in political science and economics from the University of Pittsburgh and was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy during World War II and the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge 221 in Pittsburgh and a past Master Concierge-Order of DeMolay where he received a degree for superior service. Bob was Potentate Syria Shrine in 1992 the fourth largest Shrine of 191 Shrine Centers with 13000 members. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court 166 he was a member and past president of Greater Daytona Beach Shrine Club an associate member of Bahia Shrine Temple in Orlando served on the board of directors at the Pelican Bay Country Club past president of the Halifax Medical Center Auxillary and a member of Port Orange Presbyterian Church. Bob is survived by his wife Jean whom he married in 1967; his son Robert and daughter-in-law Mary St Louis Missouri; and two granddaughters Maggie and Ashley.
