Robert Lucas

Robert Andrew "Bob" Lucas, 83 of Ormond Beach, passed away with his family by his side on June 1, 2022. He was born on November 23, 1938 in Palmer , Massachusetts to Andrew and Cecilia (Orszulak) Lucas. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard, was a graduate of the General Electric apprentice program and Western New England College. Bob was a Mechanical Engineer by trade, in which he troubleshot and developed liquid handling equipment throughout the world for FPL, Anheuser Busch, NASA and Universal Studios to highlight just a few. Bob was greatly inspired by being an entrepreneur later in his life in which he diversified across numerous industries.
He was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus at Prince of Peace.
Bob loved to fish, travel, coaching Baseball and Soccer, spending time with family and polka dancing. Bob was fluent in both Polish and English. Bob enjoyed researching everything from innovation, science and family heritage.
Survivors include his wife and partner of 11 years, Dorothy of Ormond Beach. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Lucas (Podlesney); his siblings, Daniel "Danny" Lucas, Eva Pelski, Dorothy "Dottie" Wozniak, Andrew "Andy" Lucas and Edmund Lucas.
Bob and his first wife of 50 years, Marie Podlesney Lucas were proud parents of three sons, Steven Lucas and his wife, Denise, Rick Lucas and Jeff Lucas and his wife, Candice. He has four grandchildren, Stevie, Savana, Brianna and Marley. He has one great-grandson, Sawyer.
A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated at 1 PM, June 11, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with a reception to follow.
