Robert "Bob" Davidson, 83, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014, in Ormond Beach, FL. Born in Memphis, TN, on November 17, 1931, Bob was raised in Gainesville, FL. After graduation from high school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Swarthmore College in 1953, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Florida in 1955, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Florida in 1957. He then moved to New York City and began his career as an award winning industrial designer for commercial interiors, before becoming a producer for Public Television. The highlight of his illustrious career was in 1968 when he joined the Children's Television Workshop, the producers of Sesame Street, as the Director of Broadcast Relations and Secretary of the Corporation. In 1979, he relocated to Boston, MA and became the Director of Program Development for the Eastern Educational Television Network. After his retirement he briefly lived in upstate NY, then settled in Richmond, VA, and became a certified genealogist, with clients all over the world. In 2013, he moved to Ormond in the Pines to be close to family. Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert and Eve Davidson, brothers Thomas Chalmers Davidson and William Lee Davidson. He is survived by Terrell "Terry" Carlton Davidson, Sr. (Sherry), Todd Davidson, Ashley Davidson Tefft, Blake Davidson, Taylor Davidson and eight nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, FL. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
