Robert "Bob" Carman 82 of Port Orange FL passed away peacefully on October 13 2012 at Indigo Manor Daytona Beach Florida. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 18th between the hours of 5-8 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Bob's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home interment with military honors will follow at Daytona Memorial Park Daytona Beach. Robert was born on August 7 1930 in Binghamton New York to Clifford and Lulu Carman. He retired from IBM as their Payroll and Purchasing manager as well as Board member in their Endicott NY branch. He also won the State National Softball Championships as a coach and player with IBM. In his younger years he enjoyed being active with his children such a constructing an ice rink in their backyard and taking trips in their woody station wagon. He was an avid bowler a huge fan of the Orlando Magic and enjoyed kicking off his shoes to dance the Polka. He will be lovingly remembered around Volusia County as one of the "Great Story Tellers".
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joan Carman Port Orange four sons Michael (Pam) Carman Port Orange Robert "Bobby" (Kathy) Carman Ormond Beach Keith (Gretchen) Carman Ormond Beach and Chris (Jeannette) Carman Ormond Beach by two daughters Michelle (Kerry) Presnell Ormond Beach Kelly (Denise Nirschl) Carman Daytona Beach two brothers Dick Carman Edgewater FL and Don Carman Santa Ana CA by his sister Cindy Folliett his sister-in-law Mary Catherine Egan and by fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
