Funeral services for Robert B. Blair 91 of Holly Hill who died at his residence will be 2:00 PM Wednesday March 2 2005 in the chapel of Lohman Ormond Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Leslie Avchin officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday 12:00 ? 2:00 Pm at the funeral home. He moved to this area in 1997 from Rough & Ready Ca. Robert was born in Ruby Louisiana the 13th child of 16 born to Daniel and Emma Blair. He lived in Texas as a youth and moved to Ontario Ca. where he attended Chaffey High School. He was a track star at Chaffey and along with his brother set many track records and was known as ? The Running Blair?s?. Robert married his loving partner of 58 years Roberta in 1946. He worked as a young man as an engineer on the railroad and together with Roberta moved to Alaska where they began a thirty year adventure in Anchorage and Kenai. He became an electrical engineer for the power company. He was known as a man who did not know a stranger and loved to shower his friends with his love for cooking entertaining and gardening. He loved to tell tall tales and enjoyed playing the harmonica. Robert was a charter member of the Kenai Moose lodge and also the moose lodge of Anchorage. He was a 50 year member of HBW electrical workers. He is survived by his wife : Roberta daughters: Betty Belsky of Ormond Beach Janet Hammond of Plymouth Ca and Idella McManus of Port Orange 8 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Remembrances to Hospice of Volusia /Flagler County.
