Robert W. Bender 83 of Daytona Beach Shores passed away on March 31 2007 at Halifax Medical Center. He was born on January 2 1924 to the late William and Mae Bender in Allentown Pennsylvania. Robert honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in Engineering and worked as an electrical engineer at Lehigh Portland Cement Company for 38 years until his retirement. In addition to his love for reading Robert was also an avid baseball fan played semi-pro baseball and was very enthusiastic about the game. Of all his passions in life his greatest love was for his family. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years Doris; daughter Patricia (John) Fischer; son James Bender and five grandchildren Brad Jennifer Sarah Erica and Kurt. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Robert to the American Cancer Society.
