Robert B. Barnes 77, of South Daytona passed away on November 18, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M., on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114. The family will receive guests for a gathering thirty minutes prior to the service.

Robert was born on November 8, 1937 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Herbert Barnes Sr. and Jessie Brown Barnes. He graduated from Jackson High School in Miami, Florida in 1956, where he proudly fought in Golden Gloves. Following High School he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He worked as a Delaware River Pilot where he retired in 2001 with 44 years of service.

Robert loved traveling, especially cruises. He enjoyed gardening, history, and spending time with family and friends. Robert will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Barnes Sr., and Jessie (Brown) Barnes.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Anna Barnes, brother Herbert Barnes, Jr., son Robert Barnes Jr., Robin Barnes & Matthew Barnes, four grandchildren, Kevin, Jay, Josh & John & many extended family members and friends.
