Obituary

Robert "Bob" Banks Sr. 80 of Palm Coast FL passed away on Sunday November 13 2011 at Florida Hospital-Flagler. The family will receive friends on Thursday November 17th between the hours of 2-4 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday November 18th at 11:00 am at Daytona Memorial Park 1423 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Beach. A reception will follow at Holiday Village Ormond Beach between 12-2 pm. Bob served his country in the US Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars reaching the rank of Sergeant First Class. He later retired as a maintenance foreman with the Clover Park School System in Washington State. In 2002 he and wife relocated to Volusia County. Bob was a "man of few words" but had a great sense of humor. He loved to travel including crossing the country three times with his wife in their RV. He enjoyed fishing hunting and playing poker with his "Club House Boys". Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years Marian Banks Palm Coast five sons Robert H. Banks Jr. Kodiak AK Lloyd "Ed" (Mary) Banks Federal Way WA William (Lorran) Meyers Houston TX Spencer (Patricia) Meyers Puyallup WA and Matthew Mahoney Pinellas FL three daughters Patricia Shirer and Pam Loper both of Yelm WA and Edith (Ed) Byrd Ormond Beach a brother and several sisters by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
