Obituary

Robert ""Bob"" Collie Baker Sr. age 78 Port Orange his mission on earth fulfilled passed away in his home with his wife and daughter at his side on Saturday November 28 2009. A 10:00 a.m. viewing followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service in his honor will be held Saturday December 5 2009 at the Daytona chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment at Daytona Memorial Park. Bob was born July 5 1931 in Pulaski Virginia to P. Bert and Cora Baker. At age 19 he joined the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He dedicated several years as a Baseball Umpire for the American AAA League from 1966- 1972 and 30 years as a mechanic for Jon Hall Chevrolet. In 1976 he made a commitment to dedicate his life to serving our Lord and his days were spent shepherding those in need reading his bible and loving our Lord. He enjoyed taking care of his home keeping his lawn making people smile and spending time with nature. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 57 years Shirley Bedsaul Baker; three children Robert C. ( Drema Brown) Baker Jr. Larry Ray (Carol Mills) Baker and Sheila Baker all of Port Orange FL; two grandchildren Robert C. Baker III and Elizabeth Dawn Baker.
