Richard E. "Doc Watson" Watson 64 of New Smyrna Beach died at his home on Saturday evening January 2 2010. Born in Akron Ohio he moved to this area 10 years ago after retiring after 35 years as a troubleshooter for East Ohio Gas Company. He was an Army veteran who served as a radioman during the Viet Nam War and enjoyed spending his spare time refurnishing furniture.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 20 years Rebecca a son Richard Jr and daughter Tana Gleespen both of Ohio a step son Kenneth Cain of Ormond Beach a step daughter Kelly Tyde of New Smyrna Beach a brother Carl Collins and a sister Pat Watson both of Ohio. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren.
